A Poem: Even Still Pictures Can Talk

I wrote this poem just this past Saturday and I thought I should share with you. Enjoy.

Even still pictures can talk.
A breathing collage I once saw
From across the hall I felt the throb
The Tears… Joys sinking away

In the threshold
When memory holds still
The pictures darkly form
Reminding us of lost Pain
Within which we weave weary Smiles
"I would be quite satisfied if my novels (especially the ones i set in the past) did no more than teach my readers that their past - with all its imperfections - was not one long night of savagery from which the first Europeans acting on God's behalf saved them from."
Morning Yet on Creation Day, 1975. Chinua Achebe.
